DU president, Dr. Wael Mualla met on September 30th with Prof. Michal Schmidt of the Cottbus university and Dr. Berd Holdhansen of the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ). Discussions during the meeting revolved around the best ways to enhance cooperation between the three institutions, particularly with regards to mechanisms maximizing the benefits from the MOU signed between DU and Cottbus.
The possibility of launching a joint M.Sc. in Agriculture between relevant schools in the two universities was also explored. The new program’s disciplinary focus would be Land Management & Sustainable Agriculture. DAAD would provide possible funds and support for this program.
Dr. Mualla expressed hope that the new program would start with the beginning of the next academic year, and that cooperation would expand to include other areas
